Sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of minors are driven by sex buying. If there were no buyers, there would be no business. And yet, even as the volume of sex buying across the country balloons, the harmful practice has traditionally been neglected in efforts to address sex trafficking of minors. The presenter will talk about why reducing demand should be a center-piece of any community's response to commercial sexual exploitation. He will also discuss a unique coalition of prosecutors, service providers, advocacy organizations and law enforcement in Seattle dedicated to ending commercial sexual exploitation by reducing sex buying. Learn some of the innovative tactics to reduce sex buying including high volume online deterrence, social media, community education, business engagement, media engagement, high school education, traditional law enforcement stings and a 10 week class for sex buyers.
