From Rescue to Reintegration:
Meeting the Needs of Human Trafficking Survivors

by Elizabeth Hordge-Freeman, PhD
September 23, 2 - 4 PM

On the heels of her Fulbright sponsored research in Brazil, multi-award winning USF faculty member Dr. Elizabeth Hordge-Freeman will share her latest findings for the first time since returning to Florida. Drawing on the parallels between human trafficking in Brazil and the U.S., she will identify the challenges that trafficking survivors face and propose strategies to facilitate their timely and long-term recovery.

Following Dr. Hordge-Freeman’s remarks, Dottie Groover-Skipper, chair of FREE: Slavery Survival Network and state anti-trafficking coordinator for the Florida division of the Salvation Army, will facilitate a discussion with the audience.

Both Hordge-Freeman and Groover-Skipper will share their insights on the current state of human trafficking and the myriad ways the community can get involved in efforts to end human trafficking and aid the recovery of survivors.
